Alright, that’s enough waffling.
I’ve tinkered with the blog form for about a month and now I’m ready to get serious. For one, this blog will have a topic.
I’m an artist. By saying that I don’t mean that I make my living doing art, or that I slave away in front of an easel from dawn to dusk. I’m not tormented nor do I feel marginalized by society. I don’t have any angst to work out. I just like to draw. I like the shapes of things, the colors of things, the textures in everything, and I love to feel as if I can caress everything with my eyes and with the tip of my pencil.
I like drawing so much that I put aside my engineering education to make a living as a graphic artist. Because I have little if any formal training in the arts I find that there’s a lot of ‘catching up’ that I’m having to do as I go along. And, well, I’m also having to do all my beginner mistakes later in life than most. Often I feel as if I’m struggling writing out long division for math that others can do in their head.
This blog documents this process. My process, to be specific. You’re free to watch, to learn along with me if you’d like, and to opine if you have something constructive to say. See you here.
