Back home (in Florida, US)! Paul Rand had some strong opinions on the design process. Specifically, he described the process as having four stages: preparation, incubation, revelation and verification. In retrospect I would define my time in PR as one of incubation. I confess to having done and seen very little - I barely even cracked the two books I brought along with me for just such an occasion (Hemingway’s “The Sun Also Rises” and an anthology of design essays called “The Education of an Illustrator”). But thoughts, ideas, energies had a lot of quiet time to “gestate” in my head all this time, so that upon returning here I find a joy in putting hand to pencil, pen, mouse, that I hadn’t enjoyed in a while.
