What? No, I’m not evacuating. This is child’s play. I’m from Puerto Rico, you must remember. Down there we have sunshowers that are meaner than this. All it’s done is rain and rain and rain and then rain some more just to make sure. Oh, and blow. The wind (probably 40mph, gusting to 60s) has been more or less relentless since about 11pm Thursday night… and now, 26 hours later, still not letting up even though the storm is somewhere on the Atlantic by now. Oddly, the wind has not lifted a single one of the lawn chairs and miscellaneous debris that people didn’t think to bring inside their homes lest they become dangerous projectiles. No downed trees, no golly gee flooding either. I guess there are some advantages to living on a sandbar after all.
