And This Is What The Devil Does

…it goes on tour. “Industrious” foursome Bile, Zeromancer, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult and Pigface lit up the stage last night at local hotspot Twilight. Loud outfits. Louder drum machines. Fog, clove cigarettes, purple spotlights. Guaranteed to give John Ashcroft the heebeejeebees. It was heaven, man. (Film at eleven.)

People Are People

The best of craigslist reminds me of why I miss New York City (and, I suppose, places like it) so much. It’s not the place; it’s the people.

Two Degrees of Separation

While the world was going to heck in a humvee I was helping sprinkle some freelance pixie dust (they did all the heavy lifting) on Florida Blood Services, a project of ubercool local designers Cherry And Company.

And speaking of ubercool local designers, I’ve been remiss for over a year in mentioning to you Ben Harben (hi Ben!), who has a much prettier and far more interesting website. See for yourself. I think Ben’s greatest achievement in this site is being able to show the St. Pete/Tampa Bay area as cooler, hipper, and more beautiful than I may have led you to believe.

There’s a whole story about how I know about Ben. Remember way back in December of 2001, when I mentioned interviewing with this great little design shop in downtown St. Pete? That was him interviewing me! Since then he’s moved on to other things (and you know I didn’t get the job) — but just like that, one day I go with Colin to visit with his friend Ken, and there’s Ben again. Who knew! Two degrees of separation between me and Ben… Two degrees of separation between me and FBS. Take that, Kevin Bacon.

So Much More Than You Know

If you linked here directly, bypassing the nifty splash page (getting old after a couple o? months, eh?), you missed the new scans I put up of Animosity @ Metalween 2002. The girls can’t take a bad picture: see for yourself!
