Blogger + OSX = kaput

For whatever reason Blogger just quit working with my laptop recently, one of the reasons why I don’t post as much as I used to, or as much as I’d like. Publishing an entry is a huge chore nowadays.

Nesting

In February I moved to the largest dwelling I’ve ever lived in: an archetypal New York City “loft” apartment that I share with four others. The view is pretty magnificent:

The place otherwise owes much of its charm to its main tenants, an artistic young couple originally from the Midwest, and their singularly eccentric taste in decor. I’ve meant to document this sooner (photographically, even) but, frankly, the place has lousy natural light. That’s one of the reasons why I’ll be moving on soon, ironically to the very smallest dwelling I’ve ever lived in, a bantam-sized studio in the East Village. Again, in typical New York City fashion, I’m in full-on denial about how crazy tiny it is and am looking forward to carving a beautiful and desirable home out of the mini-space. Just in time to educate and inspire, venerable design-snob blog Apartment Therapy decides to hold a Smallest, Coolest apartment contest. Most of the entries have been quite drool-worthy, and some even belong to mere mortals not in the architecture-interior design biz. So it is possible, after all!
