On Being Fabulous

Is it High-Fashion day in NY? There seemed a disproportionate number of fabulous hairdos, frilly overcoats and pointy shoes among my fellow commuters this morning. Even the pants were over-the-top, with all manner of patterned, pleated or artfully distressed sets in attendance. Days like these shine an uncomfortable light on my own fashion-challenged wardrobe and lead me to wonder if, in NY at least, one might be able to call in “wardrobe sick” and just go shopping instead (this is probably a fantasy scenario for some): “Hello, yeah, hi, uhhm, I don’t have a thing to wear so I’m not going to be able to come in today. But, we’re in luck: I called ahead and it turns out my shopping assistant can fit me in later this morning! We can postpone the board meeting till tomorrow, right?”

Sorry to start up again on such a vapid note. It just had to be done.

Restarting this in Wordpress, a nifty site thingee. I’ll see what I can do about importing my old entries eventually but feel free to play around. If you must, you can still check the old site here, though the nav is jumping around all wonky-like.
