Celebrities

The other day my special ladyfriend and I were talking about the wonder of micro-celebrities on the internet: a person, a camcorder, one peculiar thing that resonates with thousands, and there you have it.Today the NYT introduced me to one such. At first I thought, “oh no, another self-glorifying geek gets his ego stroked,” but actually watching the video changed my mind (spoiler: everything changes when others join in).

Forthcoming

I’ve been driving myself batty with righteous fury every time I see the word forthcoming misused to mean “an event about to take place,” and not as “ready or made available when wanted or needed.” But it turns out both are perfectly correct.
